At only 11 years old Nkosi Johnson delivered a self written speech in front of thousands of delegates and millions of TV viewers about his experiences living with HIV and issues around AIDS in South Africa that is as relevant today as it was then. He spoke about a disease that was killing him, and that has killed millions more before and since, he spoke out at a time that his own government was denying AIDS even existed. Nkosi showed that youth can bring about incredible change because of him, companies, individuals and even governments have opened their hearts and their pockets to People With Aids (PWAs) in South Africa, where the rate of HIV infection has reached pandemic proportions, with frightening speed.

Nkosi died almost exactly 1 year after making this speech still fighting to raise awareness and to erase the stigma around HIV/AIDS that millions endure daily...he died for our country...he died a hero...and we failed him.

The 6th SA AIDS Conference will be starting soon and the Youth Project will be very busy so keep an eye on the blog and updates from us and some of the youth participants. First thing we will be doing is a session for youth only to look at how to improve youth programmes and what can be done to get more people of our generation to fight against HIV/AIDS. If you are interested come join us. If you aren't interested at least don't be an asshole...sharing and forwarding this to people who actually might care takes 1 click of a button.

Dj's continue to lead the way in  #ProjectZero we had some of United DJ's (click here to see post) getting tested as a group (amazing)  with more to follow soon I'm told.  Then we had the Brother-Sister combination of DJ Lady Lea and DJ Morgan the King proving awesomeness runs in the family.

And now the latest DJ to add her voice is none other than Anele Mdoda who as many of you know is  South African radio DJ known for her on-air vibrance at Highveld FM, unforgettable performances on Strictly Come Dancing and judging the Miss South Africa Pageant 2012
